Cape Peninsula Day Trip

This tour visits the famous sights around on the Cape Peninsula south of Cape Town City Centre. It will start with a hotel or guest house pick up before heading south to the famous Camps Bay and Clifton Beaches, a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. The trip continues along the mountains called Twelve Apostles and stops at Hout Bay, a laid-back fishing village. Immerse in the activities around the harbor, enjoy freshly caught fish and sea food or book a boat trip to Seal Island, the home of thousands of Seals.

From Hout Bay the tour will continue on Chapman’s Peak Drive, a scenic road leading to Cape Point. While driving along Chapman’s Peak Drive, enjoy the beautiful views of the Atlantic and its coasts to your right and the impressive mountains to your left. Cape Point is a spectacular nature reserve and home of the world-famous Cape of Good Hope –a place that has not be missed when visiting Cape Town! Besides the famous landmark the reserve has to offer a beautiful landscape and some wildlife – beware of Baboons that want to steal your food and Ostrichs running along the road!

From Cape Point the tour heads north to Simons Town, where the South African navy is based. Enjoy some time at the busy harbor or visit Boulders Beach, home of a big Penguin Colony and one of the few places on the world, where it’s possible to swim with Penguins. From there it’s not far to Kalk Bay, a picturesque suburb of Cape Town, where a lot of interesting shops, restaurants and cafés are located. Kalk Bay is also a great place for whale-watching during the whale season, which is from June to November.

Next stop is Muizenberg, a famous surfing spot and popular meeting point of people from all parts of the world and South Africa. The Beach is watched by lifeguards and so called shark-spotters, who keep an eye on the ocean to warn swimmers and surfers if a shark is approaching.

The last part of the tour is a visit of the Kistenbosch Botanical Garden. Located at the food of the mountains, Kirstenbosch offers a wide range of plants, sights and interesting aromas that can be enjoyed while roaming the garden or relaxing on a bench or lawn. Our tip: try the new Tree Canopy Walkway in the garden to admire beautiful views of the garden and the mountains.
